Does my tenancy agreement affect my right to claim?

Your tenancy agreement can affect your rights and responsibilities. If you do not have exclusive use of any part of the property, you may have a licence to occupy. If you have exclusive use of part or all of the property, you are likely to have an assured or assured shorthold tenancy.

How much will I have to pay to make a housing disrepair claim?

Housing disrepair claims involving Clarion Housing are usually handled under a no win, no fee agreement (Conditional Fee Agreement).

If your claim is unsuccessful, you will not pay legal fees. If your claim succeeds, the solicitor may deduct up to 25% of your compensation plus VAT, in line with legal regulations.

You will also receive a 14-day cooling-off period after signing the agreement.

How long does a housing disrepair claim take?

Most housing disrepair claims against Clarion Housing are resolved within a few months. However, timescales can vary depending on the complexity of the case and how quickly repairs are carried out.

What do I need to do to start a housing disrepair claim against Clarion?
